Message For your extreme lean problem...did you delete the self-learn settings AND reset the ECU for 24 hours? Try it. I fixed a TT w/ the same lean problem by doing this, including the backfire when a/f went above 17.

Here are some numbers from different setups:
Stock:
What AF while engine braking/throttle lift?
- - IOW, too lean to get a reading
What AF under light load accel? cruising?
12s, 13s, and 14s, depending on load.
14.2-15.2 cruising, averaging 14.7
What AF at full throttle, low boost?
11.5 WOT.
Low Boost results are the same as light load.

555s/DP/Dual MAS//JWT chip
Same except at cruise where it is averaging 15.2.
Idle leaner at 15.2.

370s/DP/Dual MAS//JWT Stage 3 chip:
Same and at cruise averages 14.7
13.7 at idle, but this is on a 1990 TT and they don't go into closed loop at idle.
